Kitsoft participated in the VII International Veterans Forum

On August 22, the VII International Veterans Forum «Ukraine. Veterans. Unity» organized by the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, took place in Kyiv. The online application process for selecting specialists to support war veterans and demobilized persons was announced during the event. The Kitsoft team implemented the development of the service on the e-Veteran platform.

The annual forum serves as a platform for dialogue between society and the state with veterans. This year, the event was held under the slogan «Ukraine of Veterans: Victory in Each of Us», and nearly 700 veterans, their family members, and families of fallen soldiers participated.

At the forum, representatives of Ukraine's government and local authorities reported on their efforts to address the issues faced by veterans. According to research by the International Organization for Migration, the most common challenges include:

  • Displacement and lack of housing;
  • Psychological and mental health issues;
  • Physical disability and health problems;
  • Unemployment, lack of access to education and vocational training;
  • Social stigmatization and isolation;
  • Family and relationship issues;
  • Increased impact on physical and mental health after February 2022.

According to the Ukrainian government, the number of veterans and their families could reach between five to eight million after the war. A key aspect of reducing veterans' vulnerability is their successful reintegration into society. Additionally, ensuring access to necessary resources and state support is crucial.

The forum also presented the Strategy for the New Veteran Policy. Acting Minister of Veterans Affairs, Oleksandr Porkhun, introduced ongoing projects in Ukraine and announced a new online service developed by Kitsoft.

Our team, in collaboration with the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, implemented an electronic service for submitting applications for the selection of specialists to support war veterans and demobilized persons on the e-Veteran web platform.

These specialists will provide informational support and assistance to veterans, helping them obtain statuses, benefits, undergo rehabilitation, and coordinate employment and business opportunities. This is a crucial link that will help veterans find their place in civilian life after returning from the front lines.

The online application process will continue until September 5. To participate in the selection, candidates need to:

  1. Visit the e-Veteran web platform and authenticate using a digital signature;
  2. Provide contact information and details about their education and resume;
  3. Choose a territorial community for employment (if there is no vacancy in the community, the application will be placed in reserve);
  4. Complete the testing process and wait for an interview invitation.

Kitsoft is closely working with the Ministry of Veterans Affairs to develop e-services that simplify the interaction between veterans and the state. Notably, we developed the Unified State Register of War Veterans (USRWV) and integrated it with the Diia app, allowing veterans to access their digital veteran ID. As of August 2024, 250,000 such digital documents have already been generated. Additionally, our team has streamlined data exchange between the register and the Pension Fund of Ukraine to expedite the provision of administrative services to veterans and their families.

We value the opportunity to support our veterans on a national level, as well as through corporate involvement in projects that facilitate their successful reintegration into civilian life.
