CEO of Kitsoft Oleksandr Iefremov joined the discussion on how technology can provide mental health support at the national level during the conference «IT Solutions in the Field of Veteran's Mental Health», organized by the NGO «Vilnyi Vybir». The event took place on July 12 with the support of the Veterans Reintegration Program, implemented by IREX with the support of the U.S. Department of State.
Psychological support for veterans is a crucial component of their reintegration into civilian life. Digital solutions can help increase the accessibility of psychological services and make mental health care a regular practice.
Participants discussed the necessary technologies to aid in the recovery and support of the mental health of military personnel, veterans, and their families. They also explored how to ensure an adequate level of security and inclusivity, scale initiatives, and collaborate to build an effective service system in this field.
Kitsoft collaborates with the Ministry of Veterans Affairs to streamline veteran's interaction with the state, including developing the Unified State Register of War Veterans. Thanks to its integration with the Diia application, a digital veteran ID has been introduced. This integration simplifies access to many other services for veterans.
The Kitsoft team has also facilitated data exchange between the register and the Pension Fund of Ukraine to expedite administrative services for veterans and their families.
During the panel discussion «Systemic solutions. How the integration of technologies into large systems can provide mental health support at the national level», Oleksandr Iefremov emphasized:
- Integrating solutions and applications for veterans into the state's technological ecosystem is essential. This will allow the improvement of existing services and the dissemination of valuable solutions for veterans;
- The main challenge of applications for supporting veteran's mental health is balancing the convenience, accessibility, and security of these solutions;
- Services must undergo accreditation procedures and compliance checks with cybersecurity standards to protect sensitive data.
