Just before September 1, Kitsoft held an event for children and introduced them to IT professions. Participants experienced all the stages, from the job interview to the website launch.
Due to the recent transition to distance education, children watch their parents work from home every day. We noticed that they are interested in it, they “try on” different roles and try to choose a profession they like for the future.
That's when we came up with an idea: Why don't we invite children to the office and introduce them to all the professions in our company? This is a great opportunity to have an interesting time before the school year begins and a life-affirming event, despite the disturbing situation in the country.
So, we invited kids to the office where they got a chance to see their parents' workspace and pass through different stages from job interviews to launching a pizza website.
They passed an interview in the HR department, learned what a project is and how it differs from ordinary cases. They gained practical experience by building a plan to create a pizza website. We discussed how pizza customers behave on the site, what to ask them and created the site design (its elements had been prepared beforehand).
After that, we entered pizza data into the admin dashboard — and wow, it all successfully displayed on the screen. We completed the site development cycle, posting about our success on Instagram!
At the end of it, all participants received feedback on their strengths and cool gifts — reflective waist bags with Brave Ukrainian patches, since they are brave Ukrainians and should remember this!
Oleksandr Iefremov, the CEO of the company, congratulated the children on the launch of the site and drew their attention to directions that will develop in the future:
“Your parents create cool products that change the world. You will grow up and each of you will do something cool in your own way. It is fascinating to understand what the future holds for you; What career choice to make, and what to study. Your parents will help you with this, but it's up to you.”
At the end of the event, of course, a real hot pizza was served, even though we had to order it on another website!
